Mr. Bigglesworth
Movie 1997 · Austin Powers (Jay Roach films)
Hairless Sphynx cat whose fur was lost in the same cryogenic accident that thawed Dr. Evil — visual gag at the expense of every Bond-villain cat trope.
Mr. Bigglesworth is the deliberately bald cat of Dr. Evil in the Austin Powers franchise, beginning with Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery (1997). The premise: Bigglesworth was a fluffy Persian (the Bond-Blofeld archetype) before being cryogenically frozen alongside his owner; the thawing reversed the fur. The Sphynx breed cat playing him on screen across three films was named SGC Belfry Ted Nude-Gent — "Ted" for short — owned by exhibitor Heather Belan. Ted appeared in all three Austin Powers films (1997, 1999, 2002) and in television commercials, retiring before his 2008 death.
